Electronics Bench Technician

Summary

We are looking for a talented Electronics Bench Technician who will be responsible for the repair of digital and analog electronic assemblies to the component level. Also, the repair of electromechanical devices. We are a small company looking for a self- motivated person to join our team. Competitive pay based on experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Degree in electronics or similar preferred.

  • Equivalent experience in the electronics industry.

  • The innate ability and desire to troubleshoot, debug, tinker, and prototype.

  • Thorough understanding of electronic circuitry.

  • Understanding of analog & digital electronic components and their functions.

  • Ability to repair and/or replace electronic components including but not limited to: diodes, transistors, resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, other printed circuit components, etc.

  • Ability to troubleshoot circuits to the component level.

  • Ability and willingness to work on high voltage or high current systems, including three phase applications.

  • Moderate to high level of soldering & de-soldering skills both surface mount and through-hole.

  • Able to read and interpret schematics, drawings, test procedures, test set up, specifications, manuals and plans in the English language.

  • Have mechanical aptitude, and experience using common hand tools.

  • Strong mathematical skills.

  • Ability to use a windows-based PC and basic programs.

  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Good time management skills.

  • Positive attitude and the ability to work well in an environment that requires decision making and little supervision.

Qualifications
Apply
  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair complex digital and analog circuits down to the component level utilizing established quality processes and standards.

  • Troubleshoot and repair hardware from a wide variety of sensors, circuit boards and equipment from diverse vintages.

  • Test electronic units using standard test equipment, oscilloscope, multi-meters, signal generator, frequency counter, power supplies, etc.

  • Soldering/de-soldering components on products (through-hole and surface mount).

  • Maintain proper inventory levels of components needed to repair assigned products.

  • Perform final testing and quality assurance procedures before placing in the shipping area.

  • Meet or exceed production goals and deadlines.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Key Skills
  • Experience with Arduino, Raspberry PI, IOT devices, writing and/or using programming languages

  • Reverse engineering skills.

  • Ability to design and build test fixtures or circuits.

  • Ability to develop or enhance test procedures and work instructions.
